2009 LDA-CT Award Winners

June 9, 2009--The Learning Disabilities Association of Connecticut (LDA-CT)
presented the following awards at its annual meeting:
Dr. Lori Singer, director of pupil services in the New Hartford public schools, received an Education Leadership Award for making parents equal partners in their children's education. Under her leadership, parent advocates and paraprofessionals regularly attend meetings and are asked for input.
Eric Larson, principal of Burr elementary school in Higganum, also received an Education Leadership Award, for focusing his school on Scientific Research-Based Intervention.

Parent advocate Cynthia Kellerstedt received the Doris Ann Haptman award for her work on the transition expo in the
southeastern part of the state.
Attorney Gerry McMahon received the Anne Seigal volunteer award for her professionalism, presentations on behalf of LDA-CT, co-leadership of a parent-advocacy class, and taking on difficult cases in her area of the state.
Colleen Masse received the Service to LDA of Connecticut award for her presentations to parent-advocacy classes.
